The Rematriation of Our Indigenous Plants

The Indigenous Plant Workshop, led by Chenae Bullock, will be an immersive and educational experience for all participants. The workshop will begin with an introduction to the importance of traditional Indigenous practices, as well as an exploration of the traditional uses of the plants in our local area.

Following the introduction, Chenae Bullock will provide indigenous perspective in harvesting and preparing the plants for use. Chenae will start the workshop by introducing the importance of traditional Indigenous practices and the role that sweetgrass plays in Indigenous culture. She will explain the traditional methods of harvesting and preparing sweetgrass and demonstrate the braiding technique.

At the end of the workshop, Chenae will lead a discussion about the significance of sweetgrass and its importance to Indigenous people. Participants will leave the workshop with a better understanding of traditional Indigenous practices and a greater appreciation for the plants in our local area.
