August: Black Philanthropy Month
Each August, we recognize and uplift the contributions of Black philanthropists and the impact of giving in Black communities. Founded in 2011 by Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland, the initiative promotes equity in philanthropy, encourages strategic giving, and fosters collaboration among individuals, organizations, and institutions committed to advancing justice and opportunity for people of African descent worldwide.
Give 8/28
Give 8/28 is dedicated to supporting Black-led and Black-benefiting nonprofits. Held annually on August 28th, it highlights the importance of investing in Black communities and celebrates the legacy of Black giving. Organized by the Young, Black & Giving Back Institute (YBGB), the campaign encourages donors to contribute to organizations working toward racial equity, social justice, and community empowerment.


GA Gives Day
GAgives on GivingTuesday is Georgia’s largest annual giving event, organized by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN). Launched in 2012, this statewide campaign mobilizes Georgians to support local nonprofits through donations, volunteerism, and advocacy. Since partnering with the global GivingTuesday movement in 2017, GAgives has raised over $192 million for thousands of organizations across the state .
