Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms put forth legislation to acquire the former site of the Chattahoochee Brick Company in an effort to restore greenspace and memorialize the historical significance of the site.
This is big news for WAWA and the Proctor Creek Stewardship Council (PCSC), under the leadership of PCSC Co-Chair Donna Stephens, who helped to organize and push Norfolk Southern to stop work and abandon the site last year. This is an effort five years in the making, and now Mayor Bottoms will push legislation to "protect the sanctity of this property and honor the thousands of victims who suffered and lost their lives on this land."
